Paper Topic:


Did the events of the 1972 Olympics in Munich affect Palestinian/Israeli relations.

I thought I'd write about this because it involves the history of the Middle East and because I'm the only one in the class (including the pretentious instructor) who remembers it happening. I was living there when it went down and I remember it vividly. So, I can use myself as a primary source as I write..... (Man, I'm old.)

My opinion is that it did not have much effect other than ratcheting up the world's interest. The hate and violence has been pretty constant otherwise. And like one person wrote: In spite of the violence and deaths, the olympics continued on as usual. It was like having a dance at Dachau, so to speak.
